Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Not the same as the old Basic Edition Comment: The last edition I purchased was the Quicken Basic Edition 2007. It did everything I wanted it to do. This 2009 Starter Edition is not half as good as the 2007 Basic program. Don't waste your money on the Starter Edition unless your a new user. I called Quicken and complained and they gave me a discount equal to the amount I paid for the Starter Edition off of a new 2010 Quicken Deluxe Edition. It is equal to the old Basic Version 2007. I am satisfied with the result. Customer Rating: Summary: quicken 2009 starter Comment: I love the program for tracking my checkbook. The older versions had a way to track loans too but I don't see that in this one. Customer Rating: Summary: Better b eware somemore Comment: Well, it needs to be noted that just like Microsoft Money Quicken stops service in 2011. It's not mentioned here, but on the box in ity bity print, out of service. Seems the powers that know more and much better then us all have decided one program for multiple accounts, for the basic personal user, not profesional will no longer need these kinds of products. To me it's been like Outlook, different banks and accounts easy to see past and future. No more. SO I just wasted a few $$$. Customer Rating: Summary: Quicken Comment: I am very pleased with this product. It is very easy to enter purchases and can also have another checking account. The automatic computing of entries is very nice. Never have to worry that my checkbook does not have the correct balance. Customer Rating: Summary: Check Book Maintenance Comment: Was not pleased with this software, I was using a 2001 Quicken before I upgraded my computer to Vista 64 so I had to purchase another Quicken because my current version was not compatable. I did not like the layout on this version and I was not able to change it so I could see both the Catagory and Memo at the same time. The software has a split option but then the information is not visable so after consideration I purchased Simply Checking which meets my need to maintain checking information on all my accounts. The Quicken does have more options but I did not need them so I just wasted my money on this item.
